The "U" shaped hook of dark brown wood has a metal barb at one end. The barb is secured with plant fiber wrapping, and it is directed into the space of the "U." Most of the other side of the "U" is wrapped with plant fiber, but there is a segment that is not wrapped. It is dark brown except for a small bit of string wrapping at the base of the barb.
