The black wooden frame and handle has a folded paper blade. The ends of the wooden frame are peg-like. The ovals at the jointed end are nailed into either side of the frame. One side is painted with gold leaf-like designs. There is decoration on both sides of the blade.

Side one has a black field with small white flowers, dark green leaves, large red flowers, large white flowers with pink detail, large white flowers with blue outlines and a white bird with a blue beak.

Side two has a light blue field. It is mostly plain, but there are two large blue flowers with grey-green leaves or stems of grass.
