The loom consists of two unmodified sticks (Ayoreo: Ajía). Twisted plant fiber cords bind them together at the same width on the top and bottom. The smaller strings are stretched between the binding cords with a small segment woven between. The shuttle (Ayoreo: Ducaíque) is a short stick wrapped with smaller string, which is attached to the woven portion.
