The "S" shaped iron tool is used for flattening porcupine quills. The middle portion is decorated with bands of spiral lines over a band resembling a round bead, tube bead, round bead, tube bead and another round bead. The flattened ends are curved, each into one end of the "S" though one is more rounded than the other.
