This is a triangular shawl with black lace edging on all of the points and two of the sides. The shawl is made from a nearly complete square of fabric which is stitched to two smaller triangles of fabric with french seams. The decoration reflects this configuration. The black field with red and pink roses, green leaves, and small yellow and blue flowers are distributed as a border around a square, with small red roses in the center. The lace is pleated at the points, but ungathered otherwise.
