These two pieces of unbleached linen cloth (now discolored) are stitched together. One square and another strip are folded to make a pouch which sits atop the head. The back of the pouch is stitched closed. A panel of red cotton is sewn to the top of the pouch, embellished with a crewelwork floral design in red, yellow, pink, and green. The square panel which hangs down the back has a larger red cloth panel with the same crewelwork design with the addition of purple and orange. The red panel is outlined on three sides with a large piece of cotton lace, which does not lay flat at the two corners.
