Description

The folded birch bark basket (2007.2102.a) has a wider base than top. The sides are stitched in place with red yarn. The rim is wrapped with red yarn. There is beaded decoration on the wider sides.

On side one the beaded decoration consists of a dark blue four petaled flower with a brown center. It has light green stems and two large light green leaves with tan veins above the flower. There are small light blue circle flowers to either side of the center.

On side two, the beaded decoration consists of a red four petaled flower with a light green center. There are dark blue stems and two large leaves with light blue veins above the flower. There are small red circle flowers and a light green leaf to either side of the center.

The loom beaded strap has a light green field with a dark blue denticular line. There are red yarn tassels where it is attached.

The flat birch bark lid (2007.2102.b) has a red ribbon loop handle. There is an oval of light blue beads and an oval of groups of three red beads.
