Description

Bowl shaped woven basketry hopper that has a wide rim and high sides. The bottom has been cut out or not woven. It consists mostly of dark fibers with a band of light zigzag, and a band of raised coil above and below the zigzag. There is a narrow band of vertical stripes in dark and light near the braided rim.
Basketry hoppers were placed on top of stone mortars and used to aid in grinding acorns.
