The small bone circle has a vertical extension with a hook on the end, intended as a rest for the harpoon. It has a wooden piece in the shape of a very wide "V" that sits under the ring to support the ring on the kayak. One leg sits flat, the other is at an angle and has a bone slat along the length. Two small pieces of bone connect the wood to the bone circle.

The miniature version of a rest used to keep harpoon lines from tangling when on a kayak.
