Description

This basket (2007.0935.a) and lid (2007.0935.b) are made of woven plant fibers. The body has a handle of bamboo strips that has been broken off, but is still threaded through two loops. There are two bands and the lower one has a zig zag pattern and the upper one has two thin, dark bands, that form a bowl with a ring of dark wood that acts as a foot. The bowl-like lid is woven in a different pattern with a bamboo wrapped rim and sits into the body of the basket with a ring of dark wood on top of it, that allows the lid to sit as a bowl.
