Description

The small cylindrical snuff box is flared at either end. The handle spans the length of the snuffbox. A leather strip knotted through a small hole at the top of the handle and through the center of a small circle of gourd used as a stopper. The snuffbox is decorated with a band of brass tacks on the top surface, a band on the sides of the flared portions, and two bands on the narrower cylinder. Three grooves separate the bands of brass tacks from the flare at either end.
