Description

Page with Latin text along the top and bottom edges. Round format double portrait of Leo III and Constantine V in the center of the page. Both figures appear bust length. Leo is the larger figure on the left who wears a crown with a cross and jeweled outer garment over a toga. Constantine is the smaller figure on the right and wears the same crown as his father Leo. The two men grasp a staff with the shape of a double cross at the top. The inscription identifies the men as Leo III and Constantius V. The two toned chiaroscuro woodcut is colored two shades of brown.
