Nude male with sinewy muscles kneels at center of composition, one hand behind his back and the other, palm pierced, reaching skyward. To the left of the figure, a hanged man grimaces. To the right of the figure is a crowd of men, their faces contorted in charicature. One of the hindmost figures lifts a tall burning cross. The surface of the paper is washed with a salmon color.
