The image is divided into three separate registers; the upper and lower registers are smaller, comprising approximately one-sixth each of the full image; the image is surrounded by a thin, black border. The central register features a representation of a sole, very rotund bald man. His formal jacket consists primarily of expanses of solid black with details such as the “v” of a collar and cuffs in white. His pants are made up of solid fields of white delineated with thin black outlines. The man occupies much of the space in the large, center register and his legs, stretched out one toward the left and one toward the right border suggest he is leaping. Over his head tumbles a chair. In the upper register, a small flock of geese fly toward the left border. They are white with black outlining on a white background. In the lower register the artist has depicted a cityscape with small buildings and smokestacks emitting smoke into the sky, which occupies two-thirds of the lower register. In the lower right corner beneath the border is printed the page number “172.”
