Printed in black ink. A bearded and mustachioed man is depicted arising from his bed. His bedclothes are primarily white, with minimal black linear details. One post of the headboard appears behind the left shoulder of the man and further to his left is a bedside table depicted mostly in solid black on which is arranged a tea service. The side rail of the bed is depicted in black at a diagonal that extends to the lower left corner, suggesting three-dimensionality. Beneath the man’s feet in the foreground is a rug decorated with a floral motif. In the lower right corner beneath the border is printed the page number “349.” On the left side of the page, just beneath the lower left corner of the image is another printed number, “23.”
