Interior scene of formal ceremony conducted before Emperor Meiji and Empress (seated C panel, in front of Pink curtain), with promoted noble seated C panel foreground facing kneeling woman offering tray. Military figures and musicians flank scene, R and L panels. Print relates to Hinna matsuri (girl's festival), seen in the formation of three women in Heian court costume, and the Emperor and Empress.
