Figures fill a colonaded steps in front of architectural background. At the focus of the composition, a cloth-draped woman desperately grips a uniformed male figure, who resists her embrace. Above them, a nude goddess-like figure appears on a cloud, bathed in a shaft of light from L. A second group of figures fills the scene at L, while more figures retreat into the background at R.
