Description

Tsutsugaki (free-hand paste resist, dyeing and painting) on indigo plain weave ground. (Previous cataloging description: "from Izumo") It is made up of four panels with ten rice paste resist medallions. Motifs include pine, crane, tortoise, and flowers. There are no repeats. It has white and light blue motifs on a dark indigo background.
