Four dark pine trees spread across the composition from left to right. A round sun is setting between the two trees on the left and is reflected in a pool of water below the mountains in the background. The sky is a multicolored sunset with hues of light purple and darker blue. Some jagged rocks protrude into the foreground amid the trees. The brushstrokes are thick and evident and give the painting a sense of movement and dreaminess.
