Painted scene (in the style of Nagasawa Rosetsu (1754–1799)) depicting a large white heron standing on the right side of the composition with one foot on a large round boulder. There is a thorny vine with white and pink flowers that arches over the heron from left to right. A few small butterflies float upwards from the left part of the vine.
