Gilded and painted wrought iron. Of classic reja form, it is divided horizontally by the base, frieze and crest, and vertically into three nearly equal bays - the outer stationary grilles and the central opening double doors. The crest and upper frieze have typical Spanish Renaissance style ornament - foliage, urns, strapwork, fantastic heads, putti, portrait medallions and a coat of arms. The metal has been painted serveral times. The soft dark colors - black, red, green, and gold - though relatively modern, suggest the colors and gilding used on the early rejas.
