Literature

Black-and-white image of a ballet dancer, in full view from the front. She is standing against a black background, in front of a white "O". Her face is turned up and away from the viewer, to her right side. Her arms form a diagonal line, her right arm raised up and away from her body, her left arm raised slightly from her side, pointing toward the ground. Her right leg is bent so that her toes touch her left knee, and she is balancing on her left leg, standing on her toes. She is wearing a costume with a light-colored bodice and straps, and a darker, sheer skirt with an uneven hem. There are ribbons attached to the front of the bodice and skirt, and she is wearing light-colored, satin ballet shoes that are tied with ribbon around her ankles.
