Description

Painted scene with a figure (identified as Europa) seated on a white bull, grasping the bull's proper right horn with her right hand, her left hand is raised above her head. She is wearing a yellow drape over her hips and a mauve and pink drape over her upper right leg and in an arc behind her proper left arm, terminating behind her head. There are three putti in the left portion of the painting in the sky. One is depicted in full figure and bearing flower with blue drape, and there are two heads with bodies obscured by clouds. Overall there is a dark tonality and yellowed varnish. The bull is draped with a flowered swag over its horns and back flank.
