Actor Ichikawa Danjūrō VIII on stage with drawn sword weilded against an unseen enemy to the left. His upper robe is brown and the lower part of the robe is plum and white with blue fringe. There is a brown wooden fence across the back in the middle, then a green section, then blue and then white bamboo. There is a yellow and black roof in the top left and a plum and white drape in the top right. Part of triptych.
