Sawamura Tanosuke II (1788-1817) as the courtesan Katsuragi in the play Jūjō Genji Monogusa Tarō, played at the Nakamura Theater from the 6th day of the 5th month, 1813. Actor is depicted in a reclining position, a phoenix design on her kimono, and many kanzashi (hairpins) of tortiseshell.
