Color woodblock print with embossed pattern in border and Samurai figures in circular cartouche. Vertical orientation, circular image at center with text surrounding. The five Rōnin cross Ryōgoku Bridge on way to night attack. One carries kine, all carry lanterns with chū character. From a set with pictures in roundels and kyōka poems in the borders. The poem on this print was composed by Tsuchi no Otondo (The Sound of the Hammer). The edges of the print have been printed or painted with a light color.
