Description
Literature

A design for the decoration of a fireplace originally in the Palazzo Magnani at Bologna. Numerous other sketches on verso. The larger figure of Pan is kneeling in the foreground and leans towards the left while Cupid, standing, pushes him from the right. A large tree dominates the background and Pan's pipe sits in the foreground unattended. The whole composition is bordered by an outline.
