Description
Literature

The figure, identified as St. John, stands under an elaborate traceried heading facing slightly to his left holding a lamb in his left hand and pointing to it with his right. The head of the kneeling lamb is twisted upward, a rather unusual position more often found in the lamb placed below the severed head of St. John on a charger. The figure has the attentuated form and elegant pose preferred by the late Gothic period.
