Figure in an interior. Semi-nude bearded man (identified as Saint Jerome) seated before a table looking at a crucifix in the upper left. Lion above him upper right in the diagonal rays light (from a window?). He has a pink robe wrapped around his waist and is barefoot. His proper left hand rests on a large book open on a table. An hourglass and human skull are center left. A red hat (identified as a bishop’s hat) is in the bottom left corner. There is a bookcase with books in the background.
