Description
Literature

Carved, inlaid wood throne. Platform base beneath a seat with molding with interior cut away for storage. Central panel surrounded by fluted pilasters with Ionic capitals. The central panel includes putti (winged children), urns, swirls of foliage. Above the central panel is a horizontal cornice above which is a carved frieze. Griffins (winged beasts) putti, and foliage intertwine on the cornice. A rounded pediment with vine scrolls is on the top.
Central panel may be older than 1800s.
