Event Description
Internationally acclaimed conceptual artist Ernesto Pujol will speak about his work at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 18, as part of the Spencer's celebration of International Museum Day. The Museum will also offer guided tours, free gifts, and shopping discounts throughout the day.
The day also presents a terrific opportunity to see the Spencer's spring temporary exhibitions before they come down later this month, including the stunning Machine in a Void: World War I & the Graphic Arts, a large and in-depth installation that was five years in the making.
As always, admission is free and all activities are open to the public. Parking for Museum patrons will be free in the lower level of the Mississippi Street Parking Garage.The Spencer will offer the following activities as part of International Museum Day:

Artist's Talk
Ernesto Pujol, 2 PM

Special guided tours with docents at 10 AM and Noon

* All non-members will receive a 3-month membership in the Friends of the Art Museum

International Museum Day is organized annually around the world by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The Spencer is proud to be a part of the Association of Art Museum Directors' (AAMD) celebration of International Museum Day. Participation by AAMD member museums will focus attention on the important roles that art museums serve in their communities, further showcase their collections, and increase opportunities for audiences to engage with the many educational programs art museums offer.
