Event Description
Join Spencer Curator Kate Meyer at Kansas City’s first legal distillery since Prohibition to enjoy drinks and a spirited discussion about the life and work of Thomas Hart Benton, notorious for his hard-drinking and ramblings in the backwoods country of Missouri as his virile and uncompromising paintings of the “U.S. Scene.” Art History on the Rocks is a freewheeling art history course pairing art and spirits. Join us for cocktails at 5:30 PM. The program takes place from 6:15-7:30 PM. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Registration is $25 per person and includes one drink and light hors d’oeuvres. Call 785-864-4760 or register at http://www.kualumni.net/cgi-bin/kuaa_transactions.cgi?action=displayecommerceevent&itemid=13016.
