Event Description
Mark Dion’s large-scale installations, which often incorporate scientific methodologies for collecting and organizing objects, address how contemporary society engages with history and the natural world. His work challenges the ways public institutions and dominant ideologies shape the popular understanding of scientific knowledge. In this presentation Dion gives an overview of his artistic practice, covering a number of projects that touch on archaeology, public art, and various other endeavors.
