Event Description
In her new book, The Things That Fly in the Night: Female Vampires in Literature of the Circum-Caribbean and African Diaspora, KU Professor of English Giselle Anatol examines images of vampirism in contemporary fiction and folk traditions of the Caribbean and African diaspora. While her book focuses on the literary arts, it also opens discussion of the visual arts and features on its cover a painting from the Spencer Museum, Colère (Anger) by Salnave Philippe-Auguste. The painting will be displayed for a special viewing during Anatol’s talk.
