Event Description
Artist Kyoung Ae Cho works with fiber and mixed media to investigate environmental processes and the rhythms of nature. Her work explores shape, pattern, color, texture, and scale through found materials and textile techniques. This personal dialog with nature attempts to reveal its power and beauty. Born in South Korea, she received her BFA from Duksung Women’s University in Seoul, and her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. A recipient of numerous awards, her work has been exhibited extensively in national and international venues. She is currently a professor at the Peck School of Art, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. In addition to this public talk, her visit to KU includes individual critiques with textile/fibers students.
