Event Description
9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering was a series of performances from October 13-23, 1966, in which artists and engineers from Bell Laboratories collaborated on what was to become the first event in a series of projects known as Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.). Three short films documenting selected 9 Evenings performances will be screened: John Cage: Variations VII/9 Evenings in Theatre & Engineering; E.A.T. and ARTPIX: Open Score by Robert Rauschenberg; and David Tudor Bandoneon! (a combine). The films are produced by Julie Martin, director of E.A.T., and directed by Barbro Schultz Lundestam. This film screening is part of the Hybrid Practices Conference.
