Event Description
Portuguese choreographer and researcher João Fiadeiro demonstrates his method of Real Time Composition and discusses its theoretical background in a performance lecture that kicks off his two-week residency at KU. Fiadeiro initially developed Real Time Composition as a framework to allow collaborators from multiple disciplines to join him in the creative process. For the past five years, he has been using this method as a research practice to explore the issues of pre-action, emergency, and decision, thereby broadening its scope to incorporate scientific fields such as anthropology, neurobiology, economics, complex system sciences, and cognitive science. Fiadeiro’s visit to KU is organized by the Arts Research Collaboration initiative of the Spencer Museum of Art, with the support of the Research Investment Council.
