Event Description
How do local artists see Lawrence? Catch the closing night of the “Vision of Lawrence” art exhibition featuring more than 30 contemporary Lawrence artists. Compare their modern version with artwork created by five early Lawrence women artists whose work and lives will be highlighted in a talk by Kate Meyer from the Spencer Museum of Art. Gallery Talk begins at 7 pm in the auditorium of the Lawrence Public Library. Guided tours of the exhibition by participating artists and jury members will follow the talk at 7:45 PM. The talk and tour are free and open to the public. This event is part of the “About Lawrence…” series of free events sponsored by the Lawrence Public Library and Lawrence Magazine. Additional support for “Vision of Lawrence” is provided by Spencer Museum of Art, Lawrence Arts Center, Phoenix Gallery and Studio 831.
