Event Description
Interdisciplinary arts collective PostCommodity discusses their upcoming social collaborative project Repellent Fence, which will generate a two-mile-long ephemeral land installation on the traditional homelands of the Tohono O’odham along the U.S./Mexican border. The project is designed to establish a dialogue among the Tohono O’odham Nation, the United States, and Mexico to address the shared experiences of an increasingly challenging contemporary world, promote a constructive discourse that challenges the social, political, and economic processes destabilizing communities and geographies, and connect Indigenous narratives of cultural self-determination within the broader public sphere. Postcommodity’s work functions as a shared Indigenous lens and voice. Its members include Raven Chacon, Cristóbal Martínez, Kade L. Twist and Nathan Young.
