Event Description
The Spencer Museum of Art presents a free mini K-12 educator workshop. Spend a few hours exploring the connections between art, science, and math. Bring back new ideas for the classroom. Individual teachers are welcome, however for maximum impact, we recommend that schools send teams of teachers covering the areas of art, science, and math.

Investigate the Art and Science of Perception with KU Physics and Astronomy Professor Michael Murray and Fine Arts Graduate Student Raechel Cook by exploring the exhibition James Turrell: Gard Blue.

Learn about and experiment with strategies to connect art, science and math through the new National Arts Standards with Kansas Department of Education Fine Arts Coordinator Joyce Huser and Art Museum Educator Amanda Martin-Hamon.

Light Breakfast provided. Free parking and door prizes.

To register, email SAM Associate Director of Community Engagement Amanda Martin-Hamon at akmartin@ku.edu.
