Event Description
This installment of the International Environmental Film Festival is presented by the Center for Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies. Based on top-secret government documents that came to light only during the collapse of the Soviet Union, THE BATTLE OF CHERNOBYL reveals a systematic cover-up of the true scope of the disaster. Guest Speaker: Tanya Khvitsko, a Kansas resident who has two prosthetic legs and is missing fingers on each hand due to having been born near the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site. She is currently training for the 2016 Paralympic Games.
