Event Description
This reception honors Lawrence and Topeka students who worked with renowned quilt artist Marla Jackson to make their own original art inspired by Aaron Douglas and the Harlem Renaissance. This exhibition showcases two large paintings made by 8th-graders, and 18 individual quilts made by 4th-graders. The project overall is a collaboration with the National Park Service, the Brown v. Board of Education National Park Service Site, Topeka.
