Event Description
From 1972 to 1976, when Harry Hughes was a Public Affairs Officer for the American Embassy in Haiti, he and his wife, Mary Lou Vansant Hughes, met and befriended many artists and established a collection of nearly 100 Haitian works. Now, 40 years after their arrival in Port-au-Prince, the Hughes have given their collection to the Spencer. Presented by SMA docent Nancy Hernandez, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn about works in this collection. This popular series of informal gallery discussions is designed for senior citizens, but open to everyone.
