Event Description
If you're looking for something to do this afternoon, Hall Distinguished Professor of American Art & Culture Charles C. Eldredge invites you to sit in on a session of his longstanding course Art & Popular Culture of Kansas. Today, he's invited Marilyn Maye and Kevin Willmott. Maye, singer, proud Kansas native, and one of America’s most beloved exponents of the Great American Songbook, will speak on being a Kansan working in today’s top venues around the world. Willmott, filmmaker and KU professor, will speak on his community based filmmaking, an alternative to Hollywood, and the acclaimed films that result. He will also preview his work in progress.
