Event Description
The Spencer Consort will present a performance with bass John Stephens on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at 2:30 PM in the Spencer Museum of Art Central Court. A resident ensemble at the KU Spencer Museum of Art, The Spencer Consort performs Baroque music on instruments like those in use during the 17th and 18th centuries. The members include Baroque flutists Joy Laird and John Boulton, harpichordist Elizabeth Egbert Berghout, and Baroque cellist Paul Laird. They will be joined for two works in this concert by John Stephens, bass, who is division director for the Voice Division at the KU School of Music. The concert includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788), Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713), and Michel de la Barre (c 1675-1745). The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call Paul Laird at 864-9716 or contact him by email at plaird@ku.edu.
