This summer the Spencer Museum of Art has incorporated three art-into-science classes into It Starts with Art! The classes will be taught by students from the University of Kansas’ UKan Teach program.

UKan Teach is collaborative program between the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Education. The program prepares and supports secondary mathematics and science teachers at the University of Kansas. These UKan Teach student teachers work with Spencer Museum of Art Youth & Family Outreach Coordinator Sorcha Hyland to devise interdisciplinary lessons plans that weave fundamental scientific concepts into museum-based art appreciation topics. http://ukanteach.ku.edu/~kuscied/ukanteach/index.shtml
