Event Description
RICHARD ROSS holds a Bachelor's of Art from the University of Vermont, in Burlington (VT) and a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida in Gainsville (FL). Mr. Ross has traveled all over the world photographing unusual sites and people, including "forbidden" places. His most recent exhibitions include the Tate Modern, in London; Aperture Gallery, in NYC; the National Building Museum, in Washington DC; Acme Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Nerman Museum in Kansas City, just to mention a few. He has been published in Time, Newsweek, Art In America, ArtForum, GQ, Dwell, Architectural Digest, LA Weekly, and the New Yorker, among others. Major publications are Architecture of Authority, Museology, Historia Natural, Gathering Light, Patently Erotic, and Seeing the Getty Center, among many more. Mr. Ross, a National Endowment for the Arts recipient (80,81,87) and a Guggenheim Fellowship recipient (2007-08), is a Professor of Art at the University of California, in Santa Barbara, where he currently lives and works.
