Event Description
Presentation by Susan Earle about works of art and the contemporary context in Paris in 1868, related to the Piano Concerto No. 2 of 1868 by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Susan Earle presented this talk and showed slides to share relevant works of art. Maestro David Neely also shared remarks about this same Piano Concerto. Prof. Jack Winerock and his student Chae Young Park performed excepts of the Concerto on the pianos that were set up in the Lied Pavilion for the occasion. The event was meant to provide a broader context in preparation for the “Simple Gifts” concert offered by the Lied Center for the community a couple of days later.
