Small pool of bright blue water in a small depression. Hill with five pine trees under blue sky in background.

Little Basin, in western Clark county, is a sink several centuries old, as attested by the large trees that grow upon the inner walls of the depression. St. Jacob's Well, a pool of water at the bottom of this sink, although small, is unusually pretty, as in the summer it is surrounded by green foliage and a profusion of wild flowers. A number of other prehistoric sinks are found in western Kansas.
